I'm a business lawyer with a Big Law background — and I now spend my days creating contract templates and working with coaches, creators, and online entrepreneurs who want to actually understand what they're signing.
(The kind of people who Google “contract template” at 11pm before a big client call. Yes. You do. I’ve got you.)
I didn’t start here, though.
I started in M&A — international mergers and acquisitions, drafting and negotiating contracts for startups, investors, private equity firms, and global companies on high-stakes, cross-border deals.
The work was precise and detail-heavy. Every clause had a purpose. Every risk was considered. Every contract had to hold up under real pressure — because the stakes were high enough that a weak clause could cost millions.
That’s where I learned what actually makes a contract solid. And what makes it fall apart.
Not to age myself, but at some point, I started noticing a completely different world exploding online — coaches launching programs, creators building brands, and entrepreneurs selling digital products and services from their laptops to audiences across the world.
And naturally — because I’m a lawyer and I genuinely cannot help myself — I got curious about the legal side of it.
What I found was... not great.
A lot of the contracts floating around this space were written by lawyers who had never worked with a group coaching program, a UGC creator, or a digital product business. They were generic, full of legalese, and honestly? Written for an audience that wouldn’t necessarily know what a strong contract should look like — which made it very easy to sell something that looked professional but didn’t actually protect anyone.
That gap is exactly why Selene the Lawyer exists.
I took everything I learned in Big Law — the precision, the eye for risk, the understanding of what actually holds up — and built contract templates specifically for the way online businesses operate. Niche-specific. Plain-language. Internationally usable. And updated as your world changes.
