The international business lawyer who actually gets coaches, creators, and course sellers
Hey, I’m Selene! I’m a lawyer with a Big Law background, and these days I spend my time creating contract templates for coaches, creators, and online business owners who want to understand what they’re signing (and what they’re asking their clients to sign).
I didn’t start here, though.
Where I learned what makes a contract hold up
I began my career in Big Law, working on international mergers and acquisitions. I drafted and negotiated contracts for startups, investors, private equity firms, and global companies on cross-border deals, where every clause had a purpose and a weak one could cost millions.
That’s where I learned what makes a contract solid, and what makes it fall apart.
The gap I couldn’t ignore
Around the same time, I started paying attention to a very different world: coaches, creators, and entrepreneurs building businesses online and selling programs, content, and digital products to clients all over the world (I know, I’m really aging myself right now).
And because I’m a lawyer and I genuinely can’t help myself, I got curious about their contracts.
What I found was not great.
I saw that small-business owners were often choosing between generic online forms they did not understand and traditional legal services they could not justify every time they signed a new client or launched an offer. And the forms that did exist were rarely written by lawyers who understood their niche. Those lawyers had never dealt with a group coaching program, a UGC creator’s usage rights, or a refund request on an online course, so their contracts looked professional but left the biggest risks wide open.
That gap is why I started Selene the Lawyer.
What I built instead
I took the precision I learned in Big Law and used it to build contract templates for the way online businesses actually work. Each template is written for a specific niche, in plain language, with side notes that explain what every clause does and what to fill in. (Your clients will think you hired a lawyer. Technically, you did.)
My templates are peer-reviewed by licensed lawyers in France, the UK, Florida, and New York, designed for use worldwide, and updated for free whenever laws or best practices change.
My goal is to give your business the same level of protection a large company gets, without the bureaucracy or the billable hours.
