This post is all about the essential rates every creator needs in an influencer rate card template to maximise brand deals.

Ultimate Influencer Rate Card Template

Key rates for every YouTube, TikTok and Instagram influencer rate card template

Please note that this is Part 2 of my 1-part series on the essential rates for your influencer rate card template.

If you haven’t already, read Part 1 first: 11 Essential Rates for Your Influencer Rate Card | The Ultimate Guide + FREE Template (Part 1).

Now that you know the first 7 key rates for your influencer rate card template, let’s get into the remaining 6 essentials!

7. Link in bio rate

Usually, in a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram influencer rate card template, you’ll see also see a separate rate for a link in bio. This means that an additional rate is charged when a product link of the brand is included in the creator’s bio.

Your bio is precious real estate and, basically, extra advertising space for the brand, and thus, you should charge the brand an additional rate for that.

Also, if you agree to a link in your bio, you don’t want to have that link in your bio forever. So, you should limit that in time.

Usually, a fixed fee or a percentage of the base rate is charged for a limited period, like per 30 days or per month.

8. (Additional) revision rate

Something I find to be absolutely crucial but don’t see in most rate cards (to my surprise) is a fee for additional revision rounds.

As I mentioned with the base rates in Part 1 of this blog post and will go further into in my next blog post, you should specify for each base rate whether one or more revision rounds are included (which many creators don’t specify in their rate cards).

When creators do specify the revision rounds included, they will usually include one or two revision rounds.

However, most creators do not specify the fee for any additional revision rounds. And that is where a lot of time and money is lost.

Because when you do not make the following explicitly clear to the brand:

  • If, and if so, how many revision rounds are included in the base fee

  • An extra fee must be paid for each (additional) revision round

Certain demanding brands will keep asking for more revisions, and they will not offer an additional fee for it. That puts you in a very awkward position. You probably won’t even ask for an additional fee in that case, even if it is specified somewhere in your contract.

But another revision round will cost you extra valuable time that you could have spent on another brand deal and earning money.

When you are upfront about the additional fee, the brand simply can’t get around it (and won’t have a problem paying you fair compensation for the extra time you spent).

Therefore, your influencer rate card template should include a separate fee for additional revision rounds. This fee could either be a fixed fee or a percentage of your base rate.

9. Post-production editing rate

The next crucial fee that must be included in your influencer rate card template is an editing rate for post-production edits.

You may charge the same rate for both the revision rounds and the editing. However, I still want you to include them separately in your influencer rate card.

Why? Because the brand may use your post for advertising (for which it pays a paid usage fee or whitelisting fee, which I discussed in Part 1 of this blog post). And the brand may want to have the post tweaked again. But, by contract, you are the only one who can make changes to your sponsored post, not the brand. At least, that is what your brand sponsorship contract should state. It’s your face that the brand is using, and you should have full control of what happens with it.

If you don’t have an influencer-friendly brand sponsorship contract, I offer a template package in my contract shop that includes both brand-friendly and influencer-friendly brand sponsorship contract templates. Check it out on this page of my contract shop.

Thus, you give a license to the brand, but the brand can’t just edit the content under the license (at least not without your permission). Of course, you can give the brand permission to make small tweaks, but when it comes to big changes, you should be the one making those edits.

You should be fairly compensated for that extra work and time, just like in the case of additional revision rounds. And this is an easy money-maker!

10. Giveaway rate

The next essential rate that must be included in your influencer contract template is a giveaway rate.

When you host a giveaway, this requires a lot of organisation and time on your part. So, even when the brand presents it as an amazing opportunity for you with your audience, don’t just host a giveaway for free. You’re doing all the dirty work!

This fee is also usually stated as a fixed fee or a percentage of the base rate.

11. Rush fee

The last critical rate you must have in your influencer rate card template is a rush fee. A ‘rush fee’ is an additional charge a brand pays for expedited content creation and posting.

Some brands will approach you with tight deadlines, either because they have a limited campaign, a time-limited budget, or simply are a bit pushy.

Whatever the case may be, you should only agree to create content within a shorter period and post it sooner if you are compensated for that. Why? You are prioritising the brand over everything else, and you are moving other appointments and tasks around to accommodate the brand. You also have to rearrange the content you have already planned to post. The brand should pay for that kind of white-glove treatment.

Thus, you should top up your base fee with a certain percentage for expediting the content creation and posting process (even when you’re not actually that busy (yet)).

These were all the crucial rates you must have in your influencer rate card template!

Legal essentials for your influencer rate card (to protect your money)

In this blog post, I shared all the essential rates you need in your influencer rate card template. But there’s more you need to maximise your deals and protect your time and money.

In my next blog post, I’m sharing exactly what essential terms you need to include in your influencer rate card template, such as the following:

  • Terms that clarify what is included in your base rate

  • A crucial disclaimer for changes in your rates

  • What stats you should include

Please note that the influencer rate card template is different from your influencer media kit, in which you tell the brand who you are and share all your stats and portfolio. But there are certain stats you’ll want to include in your influencer rate card template to justify your prices.

So, to find out more about exactly what terms you must include (besides your rates), check out my next blog post!

Another type of rate that certain creators and influencers add to their influencer rate card template is a UGC or content creation rate.

The creators and influencers that add this to an influencer rate card are usually either of the following:

  • Nano or micro-influencers who add UGC rates for their influencer rate card template for any micro-influencer sponsorship

  • Creators who are professional videographers or photographers who also like to shoot product photos and videos

However, different terms and conditions should apply to these types of content creation. Therefore, I always advise having those rates laid out in a separate rate card to which different terms apply.

I’ll explain more about UGC rate cards in another blog post!
